SEASCAPES

These paintings are inspired by my life in Northern California close to the Pacific Ocean. Even though my landscapes and seascapes are mostly abstract paintings, careful observation in nature is always at the beginning. In the studio I summon my memory, rarely supported by a photograph. As the painting unfolds, I try to capture the mood the scene evoked in me when I first observed it.
